the power of semantics

While I'm all for pro-health adverts that aren't commissioned by the pharmaceutical industry, this one gets under my skin. HIV and AIDS are rather serious things to contend with and I don't mean to make light of the power of this advertisement... However, the two words "any body" suggest that a random individual ("any") entity ("body") can contract and carry the HIV. A body of water, perhaps. The film Body of Evidence.... How about the body of Christ?

Close up the space to make a word that exists in the English language--"anybody"--and we don't have to drag Madonna into this.

Thanks to @RobBlatt for this one.

Oh, Delta.

These ads are up and repeat themselves in rows on hundreds of NYC subway cars. Oops!

New Website!

New website is finally up. Definitely proud of my expanded (but still not amazing) HTML skillz. Check it out at emilydovi.com.
